Ding calls on Gr4vy to accelerate international expansion

Discover why world-leading mobile top-up service, Ding.com, partnered with Gr4vy to accelerate global expansion in its core business, and offer payment optionality, connectivity and functionality to the customers of its distribution platform, DingConnect

Ding was founded in 2006 to improve people’s lives by helping those with less gain access to more. As the number one international mobile top-up service in the world, Ding’s users have successfully sent close to half a billion top-ups globally, via the app, online at Ding.com, and in-store at over 600,000+ retail outlets worldwide. Ding delivers a top-up every second, via 700+ operators, across 150+ countries – helping families and friends around the world to stay connected.

“The partnership with Gr4vy will support Ding’s payment strategy and expansion plans, removing the complexity of offering new payment types and accelerating speed to market when entering new markets. Ding chose Gr4vy’s cloud-first API offering as it stood out from other payment orchestration providers, allowing us to be more flexible and agile in supporting Ding’s long-term goals.”

— Micheál Egan, Head of Payments at Ding.com

The Challenge

As Ding.com continued to expand its global footprint, it needed a payments partner that could seamlessly connect to regional PSPs, gain faster access to alternative payment methods, and do all this while minimising the company’s PCI scope and meet regional payment data regulations.

In addition to supporting seamless payment in Ding’s core business, it also needed a payments partner that could extend the same payments optionality to its platform distribution partners through DingConnect.

The Solution

Ding selected Gr4vy’s no-code platform for its seamless connectivity to payment options and orchestration functionality to support its growth into new international markets. In a matter of weeks, Ding was able to offer all existing Local Payment Methods (LPMs) via Gr4vys platform making them available to its users in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America through Dings customisable checkout with no maintenance burden.

Gr4vy’s front end orchestration capabilities have enabled Ding to personalise the payment options it offers to users in real time. For example, where once a Ding partner in Brazil could only fund with Boleto they are now offered Pix, Brazilians favourite way to pay as one of their primary payment options, while another Ding user’s checkout in Germany can be personalised to prioritise PayPal as the preferred payment option – all leveraging Gr4vy’s no-code workflow rules.

Launching new payment methods has never been more simple. Ding recently launched Venmo as a payment method for its US based customers. In the past, integrating a new gateway and adding a new LPM might have taken 3-6 weeks but now through Gr4vys platform this took just 3 days!

Gr4vy’s multi-merchant capabilities enable Ding to offer the same payment optionality, connectivity and functionality to its Ding Connect customers. This Gr4vy functionality allows Ding to seamlessly manage connections, routing logic, and other configurations on behalf of its distribution partners.
